William Luse earns doctorate from the University of Texas at San Antonio
Kosciusko, Mississippi native and Alcorn State University alumnus, William Luse reached the peak of his education with his latest accomplishment.
Luse, who earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2011, recently received a Doctorate of Philosophy in management and organization studies from the College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Earning a doctorate has opened Luse's eyes to endless possibilities. He's thankful for the journey that has led him down a path of self-exploration.
"The feeling is surreal," said Luse. "Ten years ago I had no plans of being here. It's been an amazing journey that has taught me a lot about myself and life in general."
Learning the behaviors of individuals while at work is what led to Luse pursuing higher education in his field.
"I chose this field because I have always been curious about how human behavior impacts the workplace experience."
Now that Luse has ended this chapter, he looks forward to his new role as an assistant professor in the College of Business and Public Management at the University of La Verne in California. Luse hopes to play a significant role in his students' educational and professional success.
"I hope to make a positive impact at the university and local community by serving as an excellent teacher and researcher. My goal is to open my students' eyes to the opportunities this world offers and inspire them to make their wildest dreams come true, just like my professors and mentors have done for me."
