Alcorn School of Business invites the University community to Ethics Week 2018

Alcorn State University School of Business cordially invites the University and surrounding communities to participate in its annual Ethics Week Feb. 19-23. The purpose of the event is to increase ethical awareness among students, faculty, staff and the community.

Ethics Week was originated in 2010 by Dr. William S. Piper, former dean and faculty in the School of Business. As Piper retired in 2017, the Ethics Week 2018 is dedicated to him, and the principles he stood for.

“We plan to carry on his legacy and continue to hold Ethics Week each year,” said Dr. P.J. Forrest, Ethics Week committee chair and associate professor of marketing for the School of Business. “This year, we would like to encourage all faculty to discuss a discipline-related ethical problem in question in their classes this week.  All students are encouraged to post an ethics statement or quote on Alcorn’s social media channels.”

The Ethics Week committee is composed of Beverly Adams, director of Student Services, School of Business, Dr. Jerry Domatob, professor, Mass Communication, Dr. P.J.  Forrest, and Dr. Elena Kostyleva, assistant professor, biological sciences.

For questions about the Ethics Week, please contact Dr. Forrest at (601) 920-9432.
