WINTER WEATHER & HARD FREEZE WARNING

The National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi, has issued a Winter Weather and Hard Freeze Warning for Central Mississippi (including Copiah, Claiborne, Hinds, Jefferson, and Warren Counties) which is in effect from 9 P.M. Monday, January 15 until Noon Thursday January 18. 

ATTENTION:

Snow accumulations of a half inch to two inches are expected to cover roads and limit visibility making travel conditions for the Tuesday morning commute difficult.  Temperatures will fall below freezing during the day and remain below freezing overnight.

STATUS:

Due to inclement weather, Alcorn’s three campuses (Lorman, Natchez and Vicksburg) will DELAY OPENING until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16. The Lorman Campus Dining Hall will operate on a normal schedule.

The Alcorn community is advised to monitor weather conditions closely and be cautious as the weather changes. When weather conditions pose a significant threat to the safety of students, faculty and staff and visitors who drive to campus, Alcorn will delay its opening time, close early or close for the day.
