Dr. Felecia McInnis Nave selected as North Carolina Central University's Provost, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

The president's cabinet at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) has chosen an Alcorn State University graduate to join its group of leaders.

Dr. Felecia McInnis Nave, who earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Alcorn, has been appointed as NCCU's new provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs. Her duties in the new position will include providing leadership and support for the university's six schools and colleges that are accountable for the overall academic experience of more than 6,000 undergraduate and 1,800 graduate students. 

Nave currently serves as the director for Faculty Development and Engagement at Prairie View A&M University in Dallas, Texas. Before that role, she was the school's provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs from 2014 to 2017 and associate provost and associate vice president for Academic Affairs from 2010 to 2014. 

With her new role, Nave strives to add her expertise to a well-formed leadership team. She plans to contribute to the consistency of NCCU's academic success. 

"I am extremely excited to join the North Carolina Central family, and I look forward to working closely with their president and my colleagues to chart a strategic path for academics in continuing to advance the mission of the university," said Nave. 

Understanding the demands of NCCU faithful to achieve greatness is Nave's priority.

"Building on a solid foundation, my goal is to work collaboratively with the campus community in support of our students, faculty, and staff to achieve excellence in teaching and research and in executing NCCU's mission."

Nave will officially begin her new role Friday, June 1.
