Engagement
This aspect reflects ongoing dialogue between the academic community (1890 universities and other land grant universities), an Advisory Board, and other stakeholders (Farmers & Ranchers, Community Based Organizations [CBOs], Congress, USDA) through the use of surveys and focus groups addressing research findings.
The National Policy Center Advisory Board, which is chaired by the President of Alcorn State University, includes twenty-seven (27) members representing other 1890 universities (4), 1862 universities (3), Community-Based Organizations (5), Farmers and Ranchers-at-large (7), executive directors over extension, research, and the foundation for 1890 universities (3), agribusiness (2-John Deere and Corteva) and national agricultural leaders (3) with reputations regarding their work for our farmers and ranchers.
