Investing in the Future of American Agriculture Starts Here

What if your summer could shape your future?

AgDiscovery at Alcorn State University (ASU) is more than a camp. It is a transformative experience designed for middle and high school students who are curious about the world around them and interested in exploring meaningful career opportunities.

Through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), this free summer program gives students a unique opportunity to explore careers that impact how we feed, sustain, and innovate in our communities.

Why AgDiscovery at ASU?

Hosted by the Alcorn State University (ASU) College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences (CAAS) in Lorman, Mississippi, AgDiscovery provides an immersive, hands-on learning experience.

Students will:

  • Participate in hands-on labs, workshops, and field experiences
  • Explore careers in animal science, plant and soil science, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, and related fields
  • Learn from USDA professionals, university faculty, and industry experts
  • Visit research centers, laboratories, and unique facilities such as zoos
  • Develop leadership skills, confidence, and lasting connections

More Than a Program. A Pathway to Possibility.

AgDiscovery is not just about learning what agriculture is. It is about discovering what students can become.

Whether a student is interested in working with animals, advancing scientific research, protecting natural resources, or shaping the future of agriculture, this program provides a strong foundation and real-world exposure.

Ready to Explore Your Future?

Students, parents, and educators are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to participate in a program that informs, inspires, and prepares the next generation.
