Scholarships


The Alcorn State University Foundation, Inc. administers a number of endowed scholarships, many of which have been established by family and friends in memory of beloved Alcornites or by faculty members. Students are able to apply based on the criteria for selection by the appropriate scholarship committee. Scholarships are awarded for the beginning of an academic year for both fall and spring semesters. The awards are divided into semesters. The following is a listing of current endowed scholarships in the ASU Foundation for Human Sciences students.

Scholarship Awards

The minimum criteria are as follows:

VOGUE SOCIALITE CLUB, INC. SCHOLARSHIP - Major in Family and Consumer Sciences; need; GPA of 3.0 in major courses and 2.0 overall; loyalty and cooperation to the department and the university; dedication to the profession. Department faculty must recommend at least two names to the University Scholarship Committee for one to be selected.

ELLA LOREAN MARSHALL JOHNSON SCHOLARSHIP - Sophomore; Human Sciences major; need; 2.5 GPA.

ANNA BELL ROSS SCHOLARSHIP - Recipient must be in the school of Family and Consumer Sciences with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
