Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Certificate
Applicants seeking admission to obtain a certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Alcorn State University must meet the following requirements:
- Submit a complete ASU Graduate Application
- Submit official transcripts from all accredited institutions attended
- Submit a Personal Statement entitled “What Is Counseling & Why It Is My Choice for a Specialized Degree”
- Submit two letters of recommendation (letters are not accepted from relatives of the applicant)
- Submit an Immunization Record showing proof of two doses of MMR vaccine (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
- Meet any program-specific requirements such as participating in an interview with the departmental admission committee following receipt of the application packet
Once an applicant completes an admission application, progress of materials submission can be tracked in the applicant’s Status Page. Materials submitted by the student, as specified in this guidance, must be legible for processing.
Submission of Materials
All application materials must be submitted by the application deadline for fall, spring, or summer application deadline to receive priority consideration.
Documents Submission
Official transcripts must be requested from the accredited university and cannot be submitted by students.
Letters of recommendation must be submitted by reference. Letters uploaded by the applicant are not acceptable.
Program Format
- Face to Face and Online classes
- Complete the certificate in 1-2 semesters
Application Fee
$40 Application Fee for domestic applicants and $60 for international applicants
