Vice President of Aerotek to speak at School of Business’ Distinguished Speaker Series  

2012 Scaife Distingushed SpeakerMr. Rodney Scaife, vice president for Human Resources at Aerotek, the largest recruiting and staffing company in the United States, will speak at the next installment of the School of Business’ Distinguished Speaker Series. His presentation will be Wednesday, September 19, 2012, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., in the Ray Johnson Auditorium located in the Agriculture and Extension Complex. He represents Aerotek, a leader in the staffing and recruiting field, with operations all over the world,” stated Dr. Vivek Bhargava, interim dean, School of Business. “Last fall, the School of Business had Aerotek representatives conducting a resume writing workshop for the students. Mr. Scaife’s visit will strengthen the relationship between Aerotek and the School, one that we hope will continue to expand and grow.”

Aerotek is an operating company of Allegis Group® Inc. that is comprised of a group of specialty service companies that provide niche staffing services throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Aerotek was founded in 1983 to service the recruiting and staffing needs for the aerospace and defense industry. Due to Aerotek’s rapid growth and success, they’ve continued to expand their services to provide recruiting and staffing to many industries focusing on professional, technical, and industrial staffing.

In his current position, Mr. Scaife is responsible for all aspects of human resources and leads the development of the company’s human resources strategy and strategic direction of its human capital initiatives.

Prior to Aerotek, Mr. Scaife was with Freddie Mac where he held the position of senior director of Human Resources, a lead human resources business partner role supporting the divisions of Human Resources, Corporate Services, Operations & Technology, and the offices of chief executive officer and chief operating officer. Prior to Freddie Mac, Rodney spent over five years with Internet giant, AOL, as a Global Human Resources business partner and director of Global Human Resources Solutions & Human Resources Program Delivery. His professional career has spanned over 20 years and has taken two paths. He devoted 15 years to various sales and operations leadership positions with Keebler Company, Pepsi-Co, and Footstar Inc. before moving into the human resources discipline.

Mr. Scaife holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Delta State University and he completed his executive education studies at Cornell University, focusing on strategic human resources. He is a member of The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR) and the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA).

Mr. Scaife serves on the Board of Directors for The Metropolitan Chorus in Arlington, Va., the Advisory Board for the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Deans of Business Roundtable, and the Board for the College of Business at Bowie State University.
