Office of Educational Equity and Inclusion featured speakers at anti-bullying event
Alcorn State, Miss (October 12, 2012) – Dr. Derek Greenfield, director of Educational Equity and Inclusion at Alcorn, served as the keynote speaker at Jefferson County Middle School’s event “Stand Together Against Bullying” held October 11 to help students better understand the impact of bullying and to promote positive treatment of others.
Dr. Greenfield inspired students to believe in themselves, respect others, and build a strong community. In addition, Douglas Curry, a graduate assistant from New Brunswick, New Jersey, and Ismail Yusuf, a junior psychology major from Seattle, Washington, shared their stories and words of motivation with students.
“It was amazing to see how we were able to positively impact the students,” said Yusuf.
