Alcorn to host Annual Multicultural Festival on April 23

Have you ever been on a tour around the world? If not, you now have a chance! You are invited to the annual Multicultural Festival on Tuesday, April 23, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., in the James L. Bolden Campus Union Ballroom.

“The festival has been held since 2005 as an annual activity that brings the University and community together,” said Dr. Dovi Alipoe, director of the Global Programs at Alcorn. “This year’s theme is ‘Global Perspectives’ and 27 countries from around the world will be showcased at the event.”

The festival will open with a flamboyant International Flag Ceremony and continue with the program that includes international dances, songs, fashion show, food, contests and displays by Alcorn’s diverse students, faculty and staff. Special guest performer Amanda White will present a slave narrative.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call Global Programs at 601.877.6530 or email [email protected] .
