Alcorn invites teachers to 2013 Ecology Education Workshop Lorman campus 2013-06-29 9AM 3PM

The Department of Biological Sciences at Alcorn State University will host a K-12 Teacher Ecology Education Workshop at 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, on the Lorman campus. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance and a stipend.

The purpose of the workshop is to present teachers with a comprehensive plan to integrate environmental science/ecology education into their existing curriculum and to increase the representation of African Americans in ecology careers. Attending the workshop will enrich teachers with new ideas and help them increase their students’ interest in environmental science/ecology. The participants will also receive information on Alcorn’s Department of Biological Sciences.

The workshop is funded by a grant from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ).
