Alcorn’s Global Programs Director travels to Taiwan with Thurgood Marshall College Fund

Alcorn State, Miss. (September 6, 2013) – Alcorn State University’s Director of Global Programs Dovi Alipoe is serving as a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) delegation travelling to Taiwan September 6-14, 2013.

For Dr. Alipoe it’s the second trip with TMCF delegation that continues the Fund’s efforts in building international partnerships among world-class universities. The mission of this project is to develop partnerships in science, technology, engineering, agriculture and mathematics (STEAM). The delegation also includes members of TMCF and senior faculty from Alabama State University and North Carolina A&T State University.

The trip’s agenda includes visiting three Taiwanese universities: National Central University, National Taipei University of Technology and National Tsing Hua University to develop partnerships around bilateral student exchanges, bilateral faculty exchanges, and jointly sponsored research and capacity building in STEAM.

“I look forward to the opportunity to forge strong relationships with these prominent universities to facilitate student study and internships abroad as well as faculty exchange,” stated Dr. Alipoe. “These institutions have world-class academic and research facilities, and Alcorn and other HBCUs will benefit greatly from the technological advancements in Taiwan.”
