Counseling and Testing hold De-Stress Workshop on the Vicksburg campus
Thirty-six participants attended the Alcorn State University Counseling and Testing Center’s De-Stress Workshop at the Vicksburg Expansion Office on November 13, 2013. The event entitled “What You Can Do to Reduce Stress” was spearheaded by Ms. Paulette Haley, senior counselor, and Dr. LaTricia D. Jackson, counselor/attendance monitor.
“The intent of these sessions was to show students how to reduce stress and emphasize the importance of having sufficient relaxation skills,” said Jackson. Haley agreed with her and added, “Most of the participants enjoyed the workshop and you could tell that they felt much better after the workshop.”
The participants enjoyed display area of aromatherapy with candles and bath salts, picnic area and a massage area that showcased a variety of personal massagers.
“We invite our students, faculty and staff to join our next De-Stress Workshop, encouraged Jackson. “The date will be announced in the ASU Today and Campus Announcements. You can also come by our office in the Walter Washington Administration/Classroom Building, room 305, or call us at 601.877.6230.”
