Alcorn’s Wesley Foundation hosts its 2nd Full Figured College Women’s Conference

Over 75 participants attended the Alcorn State University Wesley Foundation, Inc. Full Figured College Women’s Conference held March 25, 2014. Students, faculty, staff and community members gathered at the Wesley Foundation to hear Pastor Kimberly Jones Pothier speak on removing the blankets of fear, pain of rejection and hurt from your life, and other important topics. Pastor Jones Pothier is a sought after anointed conference speaker, life coach and mentor.

Reverend Vera Hall, Wesley Foundation director, shared, “The Conference is designed to celebrate women during Women’s History Month and to focus on the full-figured woman who may struggle with obesity and relationship issues because of their weight. The Conference was funded through the Mississippi Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church Connectional Ministries Advent Grant.”

The program included Miss Wesley Foundation Megan Plan singing “I Surrender All” and two vocal pieces by students Kenisha Smith and Janelle Moody.

Sharonda Rogers Hooper, a nursing major from Natchez, Mississippi, said, “I enjoyed the event so much! I applaud the Wesley Foundation for promoting positivity.”
