Alcorn names Bruce Williams new associate vice president of Fiscal Affairs
Alcorn State University welcomes a new member to its roster.
Bruce Williams is the University’s new associate vice president of Fiscal Affairs. The Brookhaven, Mississippi native and Jackson State University alumnus brings more than 25 years of financial experience to Alcorn. Prior to his new role, Williams owned a certified public accounting firm in Ridgeland, Mississippi. He directed the financial operation of Tougaloo College during a period when the college experienced growth in enrollment.
Williams is pleased with his new position. He applauded Carolyn DuPre and her staff for their dedication to properly maintaining Alcorn’s finances.
“I am excited about joining the Alcorn State University Fiscal Affairs team,” said Williams. “I admire the department’s commitment to financial transparency and accountability. I also admire Alcorn’s commitment to academic excellence and its vision to become a world class university that prepares students to take their place in the competitive global economy.”
Williams has set goals that he hopes will result in the financial growth of the University.
“One of my goals is to offer training and technical assistance on various fiscal affairs related functions. I plan on contributing to the strategic, long-term financial growth of Alcorn. My second objective is to support my staff in their personal and professional growth. I will continue to build on Alcorn’s solid financial foundation and expect to leave my foot prints for tomorrow’s financial leaders.”
