The School of AREAS to Host Upcoming Alumni Informational Sessions

The Alcorn State University School of Agriculture, Research, Extension, and Applied Sciences on the Lorman campus, will be hosting two remaining departmental alumni informational sessions. The sessions will be held to inform the alumni of current departmental updates and future expectations and how alumni can help in these efforts. Alumni will be allowed to voice their concerns and offer their support for the departments, according to Dr. Gwendolyn D. Lucas-Gordon, alumni and staff development and coordinator for the events.

“The purpose of the sessions is to actively engage alumni in the departments. So many times, we hear alumni say that they would donate money or assist departments with resources, but they don’t know what’s going on or who is in charge,” Dr. Lucas-Gordon said.

The scheduled informational sessions are:

Saturday, November 7, 2015, Jesse A. Morris, Sr. W.C. Boykins Agricultural Science Building

Saturday, November 21, 2015, Simmons Industrial Technology building. All informational sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m.

A meet and greet reception will be held the Friday before each Saturday session at 5:30 p.m., Holiday Inn Express, 115 Cypress Centre Blvd., Vicksburg, MS.
