Arnold Walker set to join the German Football League’s Dresden Monarchs

Back in February, former standout running back for Alcorn State University’s football team, Arnold Walker, was in the beginning stages of pursuing a career as a professional football player. After putting his football highlight reel on, the Braves all-time leading rusher’s highlights caught the attention of the professional team that would turn his dream of playing professional football into a reality.

Walker is the newest member of the German Football League’s (GFL) Dresdan Monarchs. The Monarchs have gradually worked their way up through the league system by winning their league from 1996 to 1999. The team was promoted to the GFL in 2004 and became on of the league’s best teams. In 2015, the team finished second in the northern division of the GFL and defeated the Stuttgart Scorpions in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.

Walker is happy to start his journey and looks forward to contributing to the team’s success.

“The fact that I’m a professional football player hasn’t really sunk in just yet,” said Walker. “I plan to go over and have fun while applying the lessons I’ve learned over the years of playing football. Also, I plan to learn as much as possible to become a dynamic player for the team.”
