Annual Alumni Day set, November 4
November 4, has been designated as Alcorn State University School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences Alumni Day. The School’s annual alumni gathering will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the Conservatory Room of the Ecology and Natural Resources Building, on the Lorman campus, according to Dr. Gwendolyn L. Gordon, director of the School’s office of alumni and staff development. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m.
According to Gordon, the purpose of the Alumni Day is more than just old friends reconnecting. The event also helps to bridge the gap between the School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences and alumni, facilitates dialogue about the importance of committing to our students and establishes and rekindles active partnerships.
Speakers will include Dean and Director of Land-Grant Programs, Dr. Edmund Buckner, as well as interim chair of the Department of Agriculture, Dr. Victor Njiti; interim chair of the Department of Human Sciences, Dr. Martha Ravola; interim chair of the Department of Advanced Technologies, Dr. Jeremiah Billa; Director of the Center for Biotechnology, Keith McGee and Casnacita Gray, student recruiter.
