WINTER WEATHER & HARD FREEZE WARNING UPDATE

STATUS:

Due to the increased winter weather threat and in the interest of public safety, Alcorn State University’s three campuses (Lorman, Natchez and Vicksburg) will be CLOSED for the entire day today, Tuesday, Jan. 16. The Lorman Campus Dining Hall will be open for its normal operating hours.

Hazardous conditions could extend well into tomorrow evening, Wed. Jan. 17.  Temperatures, with the wind chill effect, are expected to drop into the teens and remain below freezing. The Alcorn community is advised to monitor weather conditions closely and to exercise an abundance of caution as the weather changes. When weather conditions pose a significant threat to the safety of students, faculty and staff and visitors who drive to campus, Alcorn will delay its opening time, close early or close for the day. The university will issue updates to this notice as conditions warrant.

For additional information, please contact Campus Police at 601.877.3000. Students living on campus are asked to contact their Residence Hall Directors with any problems or questions.
