Alcorn history professor to deliver lectures in Natchez

Dr. Aaron Anderson, assistant professor of history in the Department of Social Sciences, is presenting lectures on consecutive Friday mornings, April 6th and 13th, at 9:00 a.m. in the Natchez Grand Hotel Ballroom. During his lectures “Post-War Natchez” Dr. Anderson will address members of the Road Scholars Program and other local historians, and he will discuss the changes that occur in the Natchez District as a result of the Civil War and the post-bellum period. Dr. Anderson has a book forthcoming on the subject in the fall 2012 catalogue of the University Press of Mississippi “Builders of the New South: Merchants, Capital, and the Remaking of Natchez, 1865-1914”.
