Alcorn graduate honored as School of Business Alumnus of the Year
Wiley Jones was recently recognized as “Alumnus of the Year” by the Alcorn School of Business at its annual Honors Ceremony held April 12. Jones graduated from the School in 1964 with a bachelor of science in business administration.
“I was honored to receive such an incredible recognition,” expressed Jones. “It’s very special knowing that the School of Business felt my accomplishments over the years warranted such acknowledgment.”
“Wiley was honored because of his dedication and support of the School,” shared Dr. Vivek Bhargava, interim dean for the School of Business at Alcorn. “He contributes tremendously, at times lecturing our students on the value of an Alcorn education, and on future academic and professional endeavors.” Jones also supports financially recently making a monetary contribution to the School. “My entire experience was brilliant so being in a position to give back and support their accreditation process and other efforts is a privilege.”
Jones, who holds the distinct honor of being the first graduate of the School, is never shy in saying where he received his education. “I am proud to be a product of the Alcorn School of Business and I have worked tirelessly to exemplify the training that I obtained at Alcorn State in my professional career.”
