Braves to host final home game
Alcorn State will host the final home series against conference rival, Alabama State.
Nine seniors will play in Jann Butler, Steve Easter, Eduardo Gonzalez, Gabriel LeBron, Antolin Morales, Darryl Parks, Cedric Pomerlee, Rodney Warren, and Troy Williams.
“This series is very huge for the team because of seeding in the SWAC tournament and it could propel us to gain momentum. We look forward to have great pitching, solid defense and quality at bats. ” “These seniors have brought a tremendous amount of leadership and dedication to this program. They will be hard to replace and missed dearly,” stated Head Coach Barret Rey.
Currently, the Braves are in third place in the Eastern Division of the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings. With a sweep over the Hornets, Alcorn State could move into second place in the Eastern Division.
First pitch is set for noon tomorrow in double header action. The Braves will wrap up the series on Sunday with a 1 pm start.
