Alcorn to hold its free annual SLI for its students, employees and community members

Alcorn to hold its free annual Summer Language Institute for its students, employees and community members 

Alcorn State University Global Programs, in conjunction with Pre-Professional and Honors Curriculum Programs, are pleased to announce their annual Russian and Chinese Summer Language Institute to be held June 4-July 27, 2012. For the fifth summer in a row, Alcorn students, faculty, staff and community members will be exposed, free of charge, to the basics of Russian and Chinese language, culture and cuisine.

Instructions will be given in the Global Programs building on the Lorman campus by native speakers – professional language instructors-with extensive teaching experience. Following the eight-week course, those wishing to continue their language studies may access advanced language-learning software in the Global Programs computer lab. Some of the Alcorn students who successfully complete the program will have a chance to participate in the Study Abroad Program in Russia or China during fall 2012 or spring 2013.
