Alcornite named principle of Tunica Middle School
Alcorn alumna Bacardi Mayfield-Harris has been named the 2012-13 principal of Tunica Middle School in Tunica County. She recently held the position of assistant principal at Rosa Fort High School in Tunica County. Dr. Mayfield-Harris’ administrative experience also includes serving as administrator for the alternative school and curriculum coordinator for the district.
Dr. Mayfield-Harris graduated from Alcorn in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology, then received her master’s degree in education from Christian Brothers University and her doctorate in educational leadership from Union University. Her daughter, Chelsea Harris, graduated from Alcorn in May 2012.
Dr. Mayfield-Harris and her husband Harold Harris reside in Walls, Mississippi.
