Dr. Aaron Anderson, assistant professor of history in the Department of Social Sciences at Alcorn, has a new monograph “Builders of a New South: Merchants, Capital, and the Remaking of Natchez, 1865-1914” due for release January 1, 2013, with the University Press of Mississippi.

Dr. Anderson has been a member of the Department of Social Sciences at Alcorn since 2009. He also recently published a book chapter “America Emergent: The United States in the Great War” in James C. Bradford, ed. A Companion to American Military History, Vol. I (Blackwell Publishing, 2010), and also won the St. George Tucker Society’s (a Southern History Association) coveted Bradford Prize for the “Builders of a New South” manuscript.
