Alcorn’s Sanders inducted into Who’s Who in Black Mississippi
Dr. Blanche Sanders, dean of university libraries at Alcorn State University was recently inducted into Who’s Who in Black Mississippi.
Dr. Sanders has also been selected a fellow for HBCU Archives Institute, the HBCU Library Alliance Leadership Institute, Vanderbilt Peabody Academic Library Institute, Harvard Institute for Higher Education, Leadership for Academic Librarians, and Information Literacy Institutes.
Dr. Sanders served as chair for 1890 Library Deans and Directors Association, and has served as chair and secretary of the Mississippi Deans and Directors Council. She serves on m any university, state and national committees. Currently, she serves as a board member of the HBCU Library Alliance. Sanders married to Dr. George Sanders and they have one daughter Dannielle.
Dr. Sanders earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in guidance education and elementary education from Alcorn State University. She also attained a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of South Mississippi and a doctorate degree in leadership from Mississippi State University.
