First Year Experience Program holds Secrets to Your First-Year College Success workshop
The Office of First Year Experience, Division of Student Success and Enrollment Management, recently hosted a “Secrets to Your First-Year College Success” workshop on September 17, 2013 in the James L. Bolden Campus Union Multi-Purpose Room.

Mr. Harold Spencer, coordinator of Academic Advising in the Advising Center, was the presenter for the workshop.

“The workshop was designed to provide first-year students with typical ideas on how to manage schoolwork, time, relationships, budgeting money, and much, much more,” shared Dr. White, director of the First Year Experience Program. “Students learned the techniques that will help them succeed both in and outside the classroom.”

In an interview held after the workshop, Alexis McGraw, a freshman from Ferriday, Louisiana, shared, “I learned a lot about effective study habits, but more importantly, how to utilize the resources available on campus.”
