Alumna releases book of inspirational poetry

The Alcorn family is proud of its alumna LaDonna M. Cook, author and motivational speaker, for releasing her second book of poetry “Until Tomorrow Comes”.

Cook received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Alcorn State University in 2005. She has also earned a master’s degree in counseling studies from Capella University and a master’s degree in professional counseling from South University.

LaDonna M. Cook is an author, writer, poet and motivational speaker. She’s presently a program coordinator at Goodwill Industries and a contracted therapist at Malinda Graham & Associates. Originally from Mississippi, Cook now lives in the Savannah, Georgia, area where she is raising her two young boys, Landon and Lathan. Cook is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She joined The League of American Poets in 2007 and has also received a Certificate of Congratulation from Congressman Bennie Thompson of Mississippi’s Second District. Cook was inducted into “Who’s Who in Black Mississippi” in 2012.

In her new book, Cook shares with readers lessons of personal growth and how to evolve from transformations in life. SHe hopes that anyone who reads her book will relate to each poem. She uses her words to assist readers in moving forward with a new sense of self awareness through positive growth.

“Anyone can change the situation they are in,” says Cook. “I wrote this book for readers to look at where their life is as an individual and show the journey of growth.”

Cook hopes that the book will also move readers from negative points to an overall positive life. “Everyone who reads it will know they are not alone,” explained Cook. “I hope that the words of personal reflection shared with readers will help move them out of their reactive life mode.”

Both Cook’s books “Until Tomorrow Comes” and “Expressions of the Mind, Body, & Soul” are available at ladonnamariebooks.com .

Cook is available for interviews and speaking engagements. Please contact her at 912.403.5830 or [email protected] . For more information, visit www.ladonnamariebooks.com .
