Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society at Alcorn inducts new members

The Alcorn State University Department of Human Sciences held an induction ceremony of the Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society, Kappa Gamma Alpha Chapter, where 11 high achieving students were honored on November 14, 2013.

The history of Kappa Gamma Alpha Chapter at Alcorn goes back to 1972, when it inducted its first members on the Lorman campus. The mission of Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society is to empower leaders through scholarship, research and leadership. This mission serves to enhance the ability of the organization and chapters to prepare scholars and researchers as leaders for the 21st century.

Special guest Ms. Ouida S. Pittman, a recently retired instructor of child development at Alcorn, conducted the ceremony. Dr. Derek Greenfield, director, Educational Equity and Inclusion,Title IX administrator, andassistant professor of sociology, was the keynote speaker. He inspired the audience and shared valuable tools for living your best life possible.
