Alcorn’s Carla Williams invited to HRO Today Forum in Philadelphia, Pa.

Human Resources Director for Alcorn State University Carla Williams was recognized for her accomplishments in the area of human resources.

Williams was among 10 finalists nominated to receive the Chief Human Resource Officer of the Year Award May 3-4 at the HRO Today Forum in Philadelphia, Pa. The awards program celebrated the professional accomplishments of the leading human recourses practitioners. During the awards program, Williams was able to network with other leaders and share ideas for current and future needs in the human resources field.

“It was an exciting time,” said Williams. “I am truly humbled to have been recognized nationally for the work that I do as a human resources professional. It is also a testament of the dedication and commitment of the human resources team at Alcorn.”

Williams received a certificate for being nominated in the award program’s top category. She said the accomplishment will push her to further her knowledge and skills in human resources.

“I will continue to drive workforce initiatives in human resources through technology with measureable excellence in recruiting, performance, and employee engagement and retention to prove it. I will remain cognizant of the fact that I must provide effective leadership and promote excellence to ensure compliance, talent acquisition and retention, and build a positive culture through policies, procedures and human resources practices.”
