Alcorn receives new ambulance

Alcorn State University acquires a new emergency vehicle.

Alcorn’s fire department received a fully equipped 2015 4500 GMC ambulance Thursday, July 16. The ambulance includes numerous features such as a power lift Stryker stretcher, a LUCAS Chest Compression System and much more.

Alcorn’s fire chief Ray White appreciates those who helped to bring the ambulance to the University.

“I am thankful for this blessing that the University has received,” said White. “It’s amazing what can be accomplished with hard work and persistence. Due to the collaborative efforts of many, we have reached our goal. I would like to give thanks to President Alfred Rankins Jr., Carolyn DuPre, Marcus Ward, and special thanks to Mississippi State Senator Willie Simmons, and Congressman Bennie Thompson for the role they played in assisting Alcorn in acquiring the ambulance.”

White said the new ambulance and new equipment will increase response time, effectiveness and aid those in need of medical assistance at Alcorn.
