Alcorn student intern receives National Newspaper Publishers Association Foundation Journalism Scholarship
Alcorn State University students continue to take advantage of opportunities that will enhance their educational experience.
Renita S. Lacy, the School of Agriculture, Research, Extension and Applied Sciences student intern was awarded a $1,000 National Newspaper Publishers Association Foundation journalism scholarship.
“We are elated to have Lacy on our team,” said Dr. Freda M. Lawrence, School of Agriculture, Research, Extension and Applied Sciences director of media and communications. “We are proud of her for receiving this prestigious scholarship.”
Lacy, a Camden, Mississippi native, is a junior majoring in mass communications. She was excited about receiving the scholarship and using the money to fund some of her educational needs.
“I was extremely grateful when I was notified that I was a recipient for this scholarship,” said Lacy. "I used it to pay for my educational expenses. It was very helpful.”
