Enhanced Reporting Tools Available for Partners and the Public
NIFA’s extensive data sets can provide information to help tell the story of what activities are funded by NIFA and the impact of that funding. Providing information in a useful, meaningful, and easy to understand way will facilitate that effort. The recent enhancements to the Data Gateway will greatly improve your ability to retrieve data on individual grants and capacity projects supported by NIFA. This new search ability makes the Data Gateway a breeze to use.
The Data Gateway, launched last spring, provides a portal to our data from 2002 to the present. A recent enhancement to the Congressional heat map allows Gateway users to see not only the total amount of funding by state, but they can see the grants that make up the total for 2011 and 2015. You simply click on a state listing on the right of the screen.
The Data Gateway search is available to provide more flexibility and reporting options. You can access the search through the Data Gateway from NIFA’s home page.
Key improvements for users include:
- A project-based display of data
- Embedded help text within the tools
- Drop down lists allowing you to choose the fields you want to search and display
- Expanded filter lists
