SGA volunteers at Houston Food Bank
The Student Government Association (SGA) at Alcorn State University spent some of their time in Houston, Texas helping those in need.
SGA volunteered at the Houston Food Bank’s Warehouse Friday, Dec. 4. The student leaders lent their helping hands by preparing backpacks for one of the food bank’s programs, which is aimed at feeding children.
SGA President Adrian McLain, who contributed to the organization’s charitable giving during this time last year, was thrilled about helping out the less fortunate and representing Alcorn in the best way possible.
“Last year, we donated toiletries to a shelter in Houston,” said Adrian. “I wanted SGA to do some type of service for the Houston area again this year. Not only did we help others in need, but we also introduced Alcorn to other volunteers who had no idea who we were. I feel like it’s great to serve others on behalf of the university.”
