Braves football team recognized by Mississippi House of Representatives

The Alcorn State University Braves football team was honored for their outstanding achievements during the 2015 football season.

The Mississippi House of Representatives recognized the Braves for winning their second Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship at the Mississippi State Capitol Building Tuesday, Feb. 23 in Jackson, Mississippi. The team and coaches were honored with House Concurrent Resolution 58, which commends and congratulates the Braves for their SWAC championship and Inaugural Celebration Bowl appearances.

In an interview with WLBT 3 On Your Side’s Chris Hudgison, Braves Head Coach Fred McNair expressed what an honor it was to be recognized at the capitol for the second year in a row.

“Just being able to return to the capitol and fellowship with the governor is great,” said McNair. “It’s good that the students got the chance to show their faces at the capitol.”
