Alumna Brittney Broadwater publishes first book, “It Is Finished: A Devotional of Unadulterated Truth”

In the midst of going through one of the darkest periods in her life, Alcorn State University alumna Brittney Broadwater found peace in writing three years ago. In the process of penning what would become her first publication, “It Is Finished: A Devotional of Unadulterated Truth,” she realized that her writing could not only get her through tough times, but also help others.

“At the time I began writing three years ago, I was experiencing heartbreak,” said Broadwater, who graduated from Alcorn in 2011. “I began writing as therapy and for spiritual healing and realized my writing was not only a blessing to me, but also a blessing to others. This year, I finally decided to pursue publishing the devotional in an effort to use my story as a blessing to others.”

Broadwater’s devotional book is slated for release in mid May. Considering that she has dreamed of writing a book since her teenage years, the upcoming release of her book is a special accomplishment.

“It feels surreal. It is unbelievable to me that I have accomplished a huge goal for myself. It feels awesome.”

In the devotional, Broadwater covers topics such as faith, love, forgiveness, grace, mercy and other topics that will encourage others to seek restoration and spiritual healing.

“The book’s conversational and authentic tone will keep readers reflecting, seeking spirituality and examining themselves as they read.”

With her message, Broadwater hopes to reveal her truth to the audience in hopes of encouraging them that they, too, can rise above their trials and tribulations with spiritual healing.

“I plan to expose my testimony to the world, encourage those who may perceive life as tedious and inspire people to live life with no limitations. Life is meant to be lived abundantly. Having conquered depression, heartbreak and hurt, I’ve learned that I can’t live this life relying on my own will. My Savior has moved me from point A to point B. Therefore, I feel compelled to share my experiences in hopes of encouraging others to rely solely on Him.”

“It Is Finished: A Devotional of Unadulterated Truth” will be available on www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com
