Alcorn School of Nursing’s mobile health unit set to provide free women’s health services
Nurses from Alcorn State University’s School of Nursing Family Clinic will board the mobile health unit and travel to the main campus Thursday, Oct. 27 to offer free women’s health services and education.
The nurses will be providing free clinical breast exams, pap-smears, human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccines, and much more. The mobile health unit will be stationed in front of the Alcorn’s Health and Disability Services, located in Rowan Hall.
The event is part of the NEO Brave Reproductive Health Project, which will provide age-appropriate gynecological exams and contraception to women in need via a mobile outreach unit. Alcorn received a $254,000 grant from NEO Philanthropy, Inc. to support the project in August 2015.
