ServSafe Class Offered, September 12-13
A ServSafe class will be held September 12-13, at the Alcorn State University, Extension and Research Complex, Room 260D on the Lorman campus, according to Dr. Mattie Rasco, nutrition specialist/assistant professor.
Dr. Thelma Barnes, program evaluation specialist, will serve as instructor and test proctor for the course.
ServSafe is a food safe certification course targeting individuals who sell and serve food to the public. People working in restaurants, hospitals, and school cafeterias are required by law to be ServSafe certified.
The course will consist of 16 hours of classroom instruction. The national ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Examination will be administered on the second day. The class is currently closed.
