Sigma Chi Iota hopes to add members with upcoming Informational Membership Drive

Alcorn State University’s Sigma Chi Iota Academic Honors Society, Inc. is on the recruiting trail for new chapter members.

The organization will host its 2018 Informational Membership Drive Wednesday, Jan, 24 at 6 p.m. at the Extension and Research Complex’s Ray Johnson Center. Sigma Chi Iota Academic Honors Society is the first professionally driven, career services oriented academic honors society. Their mission is to increase career awareness through service to students, career exploration and initiative.

The organization also strives to promote job development, career counseling and employer relations on the campus of all colleges and universities.

Dr. Joey Mitchell, board president for Sigma Chi Iota, said that the honors society benefits the students by providing professional development, networking opportunities and possible employment opportunities with thriving companies.

Students who are interested in joining are required to have a 3.3 GPA and 30 credit hours.
