Alcorn students prepare research for annual Posters in the Rotunda event
Four scholars from Alcorn State University are gearing up to display their brilliance through exceptional research at the annual student showcase.
Aysha Evans, JaBreann Evans, Uday Gella and Tiana Johnson will represent the University with their findings at the third annual Posters in the Rotunda event Tuesday, March 20 at 8:30 a.m. at the State Capitol in Jackson, Mississippi.
The Posters in the Rotunda event is a statewide initiative in which 24 undergraduates from the eight public universities share the results of their research and creative activities at a poster session. First held in 2016, the event provides opportunities for legislators to visit with students from their districts and allows students to network with each other as they learn about work on other campuses, and most importantly brings recognition about the cutting edge research being done by undergraduates that benefits the residents of Mississippi.
Dr. Thomas Stirgus, director for the Office of Pre-Professional and Honors Curriculum Programs, believes the event will greatly benefit the students.
“These students will network with other undergraduate students as they learn about research being conducted at other in-state institutions,” said Stirgus. “More importantly, our students will present their research findings and shed light on the groundbreaking research that will benefit residents in Mississippi and across the nation.”
