Moriah Batiest prepares for Ebony Magazine's 2018-2019 HBCU Campus Queens Contest
Moriah Batiest, Miss Alcorn State University 2018-2019 is in the running to appear in Ebony Magazine’s annual campus queen spotlight.
Batiest is one of many campus queens representing historically black colleges and universities in Ebony Magazine’s 2018-2019 HBCU Campus Queens Contest. The Ebony HBCU Campus Queens franchise is one of the longest running editorial features in America’s preeminent magazine focusing on the African-American experience. The participants embody the determination, inner beauty and positive impact that Ebony admires in our next generation.
Batiest looks forward to starting her new journey.
"I feel elated and honored to represent my University," said Batiest. "It is such a great feeling, and I hope to continue to receive support to make sure my University can make it to the top."
With her opportunity, Batiest hopes to shed light on Alcorn's success.
"I am looking to gain empowerment and positive exposure for my University. Alcorn is a wonderful school, and I hope to continue to spread a positive light on our University."
Batiest believes her school spirit and leadership skills makes her a great candidate for
the annual contest.
"I would be a good fit for Ebony Magazine because I withhold a sense of pride and dignity for my school. Also, I obtain the qualities of a lady and a leader, and I believe that is something they are looking for."
Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31. Be sure to support Batiest by visiting https://www.ebony.com/campusqueens-2018/contestant/alcorn-state-university to cast your vote!
