Department of Human Resources, ActiveHealth Management collaborate for health and wellness event on campus
On Tuesday, Feb. 26, the Office of Human Resources at Alcorn State University held a health and wellness seminar in the Dr. Clinton Bristow Jr. Dining Facility Gold Room.
Rolando Roman, a health and wellness coach with ActiveHealth Management, was the keynote speaker of the event. ActiveHealth Management is a national leader in population health management. The company is passionate about helping people achieve his or her best health.
He facilitated a presentation that focused on improving overall health and wellbeing by balancing work and life. His presentation taught participants to focus on areas such as physical health, emotional health, financial health, social health, occupational health, and spiritual health.
Roman showed the staff how to set goals and maintain them. He also talked about practicing at least one thing that will lead to achieving greater health in life.
Dwantra Anderson, who serves as the compensation and benefits manager for the Department of Human Recourses, explained the purpose of this event.
“We chose this event because our employees need help balancing their lives. Mr. Roman called me and said that he presented at other universities and he wanted to stop at Alcorn to give our employees the same opportunity to hear his presentation.”
The Department plans to make this an annual event.
