Alcorn President Felecia M. Nave challenges alumni to contribute to $1 Million Brave Strong Campaign
Nave and family donate $10,000 to support students
A generous donation by President Dr. Felecia M. Nave and her family was made during Alcorn State University’s first football game and is earmarked to eliminate financial concerns for students.
The Nave family presented the Alcorn State University Foundation, Inc. with a $10,000 check during halftime of the Alcorn Braves home opener against Mississippi College on Saturday, Sept. 7. The donation pushes the $1 Million Brave Strong Campaign to $327,000.
“As president, I believe I must lead by example and what better way to show appreciation of my beloved alma mater than to offer financial support that will help students earn an exceptional education here at Alcorn,” Nave said. “I challenge every single graduate to contribute to the Brave Strong Challenge today.”
Support of the $1 Million Brave Strong Challenge will give the university flexibility to fund scholarships, assist academic programs, acquire new technology, fund athletics and more. The campaign is set to end December 31, 2019. To date, more than 359 Alcorn alumni have contributed.
“This university provided me with the necessary tools to not only have a successful career, but also come back and lead as the twentieth and first female president. There are other alums who have broken barriers and excelled in their career thanks to the education they received at ASU.”
Nave’s comment and challenge extends to faculty, staff and supporters. For more information on giving and to contribute to the $1 Million Brave Strong Challenge visit our website.
