Alcorn Prepares for The Greatest Homecoming of All Time

Alcorn has begun preparations to kick off this year’s homecoming week. Events started Sunday, October 16, and will end Saturday, October 22. This year’s theme is ‘Big League: Alcorn’s Greatest Ever.’

The University is hosting many events with the help of other campus organizations that include entertainment, movies, food, performances, and more. Some occasions include the NPHC step show, Foam Party, Grab and Go Midnight Breakfast, and Drip or Drown Café.

Among the festivities, Alcorn is holding the coronation of its 96th Miss Alcorn Bria Fells and 2nd Mister Alcorn Kendrick Walker Jr. The ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. at the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex.

The homecoming committee encourages the Alcorn community to come out, socialize and take advantage of the lineup of events.

“I am excited to see what Alcorn will bring to the table this year. Many students are excited to hang out and meet new people with each activity available,” said Sydney Johnson, a sophomore at Alcorn.

All events will lead to the homecoming parade on October 22 from 9 – 10 a.m. at the Oakland Memorial Chapel. The final occasion to conclude the lineup is the football game shortly after against Texas Southern at 2 p.m.
