Alcorn professor of English reads short story at conference

Dr. Peter R. Malik, associate professor of English in the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Alcorn State University, read his short story “Dr. Seuss Had No Children” at the annual conference of the Mississippi Philological Association which was held February 10-11, 2012, at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississsippi.

“Presenters at this year’s conference included emerging and established scholars from Mississippi and the surrounding states,” said Dr. Malik. “Presentations were comprised of literary and pedagogical essays as well as poetry and fiction.”

Dr. Malik has been a member of the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Alcorn since 1998. He teaches composition and technical writing courses.

In 2010, he was awarded Faculty Member of the Year by Alcorn’s undergraduate student body.
