Alcorn professor of English to present at MMLA conference in November

Dr. Peter Malik, professor of English in the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Alcorn State University, will make a presentation on “Collaborative Learning in Action: The Campus Issue Project” during the 54th Annual Convention of the Midwest Modern Language Association to be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 8-11, 2012.

Dr. Malik will present as part of a workshop “We Owe It to Our Students and Communities: Service Learning in English, Reading and Writing Classrooms”. The workshop will focus on how service learning can be used to improve students’ academic outcomes, civic responsibilities and life skills.

Dr. Malik has been a member of the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Alcorn since 1998. He teaches composition and technical writing courses.
