The first presenter, Anthony Dodgen, instructor of mathematics, entertained the audience with math humor. He said, “I try to use humor and graphics to make it interesting for my students. It helps them to visualize problems and become more successful in solving math problems.”
Dr. Tapan Tiwari, associate professor of mathematics, who has been a part of Alcorn for almost 30 years, focused his presentation on mathematical simulations showing the dynamic aspects in mathematics.
Dr. Bilal Abu Bakr’s presentation on “Using Blackboard to Create Tests and Surveys” aroused many questions from the interested audience of students, faculty, and staff from across the School of Arts and Sciences.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Babu Patlolla, interim dean for the School of Arts and Sciences, thanked the presenters and all those who spearheaded the event and made it a success.
