Fall 2013 Townhall Meeting for Education Majors

The Department of Education and Psychology held its Fall Town Hall Meeting on November 18, 2013, in the auditorium of the Math & Science Building. The discussion focused on upcoming changes for admission into the Teacher Education Program. Dr. Johnny Thomas, Chair of the Health, Physical Education & Recreation Department, provided the welcome. Dr. Malinda Butler, Chair of the Department of Education & Psychology, introduced the faculty advisors and Dr. Arnetta Crosby provided updates concerning the Student National Education Association.

Dr. Jan Duncan discussed the increase in G.P. A. requirements for admission into the Teacher Education Program and the change from Praxis to Core Academic Skills for Educators (CASE) assessment.

The meeting concluded with a question and answer session. Students and faculty were pleased with the open communication session provided by the Department of Education & Psychology.
