First Year Experience Program holds How to Survive and Thrive Your First Year Workshop
The Office of First Year and Transfer Experience, Division of Student Success and Enrollment Management, recently hosted a workshop on “How to Survive and Thrive your First Year” in the Biotechnology auditorium.
Roderick Martin, academic advisor in the Academic Advising Center, was the presenter for the workshop.
“The workshop was designed to provide first year students with typical ideas on how to manage schoolwork, time, relationships, budgeting money and much, much more,” explained Dr. Patricia White, director of the First Year and Transfer Experience Program. “Students were provided with techniques to help them be successful both in and outside the classroom.”
In an interview held after the workshop, Ki’Arra Sykes, a freshman from Franklin County, shared, “I learned a lot about effective study habits, but more importantly how to utilize the campus’ resources to the fullest.”
